afraah is a junior at new york university abu dhabi studying social research & public policy and legal studies. she is really interested in learning about the growth of multiculturalism and its impact on art, education, and international relations. she loves traveling, reading, painting (and writing as of late)! she jumps hobbies quite often (she’s had a bread-baking phase, polymer clay jewelry phase, crocheting phase, amongst others), but it makes her a well-rounded person. her taste in music, art, and film is just as sporadic! she was born and raised in new jersey to indian immigrant parents and has a younger sister who is one of my best friends. currently, she is studying away in london, taking classes on everything from the history of british fashion to postcolonial indian literature. she is so grateful to have been given the opportunity and ability to see the world, and interviewing and writing for grain of salt just feels like an extension of that. she is also excited to network and engage with other non-men creatives and learn from my coworkers in the process!
