grain of salt mag is an online publication that creates a space for young creatives of marginalized gender identities to reclaim and explore their creativity without the constraints of patriarchal standards. since our humble beginnings in may 2020, we have recruited a 40+ person team from all over the globe, curated multiple print publications, developed a semester-long residency program and built a community of over 8,000 people across our social media platforms.

however, doing what we do comes with a price tag. we are a volunteer magazine, so all staff positions are unpaid, and we are not-for-profit, so any money we raise goes right back into the magazine and our community. that’s why we rely on generous donations from our community members to keep supporting young marginalized voices.

any gift you give goes straight back into grain of salt mag: whether it’s paying for our website domain, upgrading our website, or purchasing programs and supplies for our creatives, a little goes a long way.
